New blog series!

I am pleased to announce that I will soon be doing a blog series for the Smithsonian Institution’s Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation. Their blog, Bright Ideas, will feature a few posts by me on accessibility and Universal Design at the National Museum of American History and the National Air & Space Museum.

I will be covering the accessibility features at these museums, and throughout the SI, that go beyond the building mandates of the ADA. Museum accessibility at the SI is one of my case studies for a chapter on architectural phenomenology, and these blogs draw on some of that material, explaining accessibility in terms of mobility features, sensory data, and technological interfaces.
